PCDI Canada Includes NFSTP Certification in Nutrition, Diet and Health Science Program

OAKVILLE, Ontario - PCDI Canada has decided to include the National Food Safety Training Program Food Handling Course and Certification Exam package in PCDI's Nutrition, Diet and Health Science program, at no extra cost. Students enrolling in the PCDI Nutrition, Diet and Health Science program on or after July 11, 2015 will be eligible, after graduation, to receive the NFSTP Food Handling Course and Certification Exam package, through a simple process and at no extra charge. The NFSTP Food Handling Course and Certification Exam package will allow graduates to learn about safe food handling practices and obtain food handling certification upon successful completion of the NFSTP Certification Exam.

"Professional certification by organizations like the National Food Safety Training Program is an important career tool for anyone looking for a career dealing with nutrition," Michael Scott, General Manager of PCDI Canada said at PCDI's head office in Oakville Ontario, "since it establishes professional training and expertise in a way that is easily recognizable by employers and customers. The NFSTP," he continued, "is a well known and well respected professional and educational organization and it seems clear to us that inclusion of the NFSTP Food Handling Course and Certification Exam Package in our Nutrition, Diet and Health Science program is a great deal for students and will help them achieve their career goals. PCDI Canada believes strongly in integrated career training programs. Our goal is to integrate a professional certification or membership in a professional organization in as many of our career training programs as possible. This is another step towards that goal."

The National Food Safety Training Program was established by Restaurants Canada, the national professional association for Canada's restaurant and food service industry. Restaurants Canada was established in 1944 and is based in Toronto, Ontario.
