History

Our Enduring History With Online Learning

PCDI Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ashworth College. Ashworth College evolved from a humble start in 1987, when it was a family-owned school operating under the name of Professional Career Development Institute (PCDI) and offering a single course in real estate appraisal.

A Pioneer in Distance Learning

New distance online learning courses were added and enrollments increased rapidly. In 1996, James Madison High School, a SACS-accredited online high school, became a part of the PCDI family.

In 2004, Ashworth College brought its unique distance education model to Canada when it opened PCDI Canada, headquartered in Oakville, Ontario. PCDI Canada is proud to acknowledge that we have more than 8,000 alumni across Canada.

In 2012, Ashworth and PCDI Canada recognized that professional certifications and professional memberships could offer students a unique opportunity to get connected to employers and careers and began offering integrated training programs, which include a professional certification or professional membership at no extra cost.

Distance Learning Courses For Everyone

On March 17, 2012 Ashworth College celebrated its 25th anniversary.
