This is an exciting time to begin learning career-level children’s writing skills. Take a stroll through the juvenile section of any public library the sheer quantity and variety of children's books is overwhelming! Book sellers, too, are devoting more shelf space to children’s books and are featuring special children’s reading and recreation areas.

Besides books, there are a number of magazines that are targeted exclusively to children and youth. It seems that book and magazine publishers are constantly generating new material. Picture books, easy readers, young adult novels, short stories, or textbooks: they’re all there.
